An important Update About Our hoshino matcha

We founded our business with a simple idea: to bring you high-quality Japanese tea, carefully crafted by talented farmers, at a fair and accessible price.

Recently, we’ve had an issue with our Hoshino Matcha. New stock has repeatedly been purchased in large quantities as soon as it becomes available, sometimes selling out entirely, before being resold elsewhere at significantly higher prices.

We have tried to resolve this fairly by discussing reasonable purchase limits to ensure stock remains available for our wider customer base. Unfortunately, this has not prevented the same thing from happening.

Why has the price changed?

To help prevent our Hoshino Matcha from being repeatedly bought out and resold at inflated prices, we have had to increase our online price to bring it closer to the prices we are seeing elsewhere.

This was not a decision we wanted to make.

Our priority has always been to offer exceptional Japanese tea at a fair price while properly recognising the farmers who work so hard to produce it.

We still want to offer you a better price

If you purchase Hoshino Matcha from our York shop, you can still get it at a lower price than our standard online listing as part of our “in-store buy discount”.

We’re continuing to look for better ways to manage our stock so genuine customers have a fair opportunity to purchase it.

We’re sorry this situation has affected our pricing, and we genuinely appreciate your understanding and support.

For us, it has always been about respect for the tea, the farmers and our customers - not greed.
